Your ceremony: six easy steps

What to expect?

1. You’ve chosen me as your wedding registrar!

Thank you! That’s great! Do you want me to marry you legally? Or only ceremonial? In a foreign country? Or on a boat?

2. A formal legal wedding? Or ceremonial wedding?

For a formal and legal wedding, you have to announce your wedding to the local magistrate in your city.  The assignment to myself by the municipality and my registration by the courts follow automatically. This will take 4 months on average. A cermonial marriage is much easier.. 🙂

3. Starting to plan the day

Initially, we discuss how you would like your wedding to be celebrated by using a standard questionnaire or by trying out ideas. This will be done in the relaxed setting of your home in the evening. Our conversation touches on practical issues, legal matters and your personal situation. To help me understand your wishes, I will record your answers using a dictaphone.

5. A final check

Relax! There is ample time for rehearsals before the day of the wedding. I will guide you through the ceremony, so you are well prepared and ready to enjoy it!

6. Your day!

The ceremony begins! The vows, the rings, the kiss, followed by the signing of the marriage certificate by both the newly weds and their witnesses.

In my epilogue I will talk about the practical matters of the event, leaving you and your guests to enjoy the rest of your perfect day.
